Client Momentum Credit Union

A complete renovation of a former music store to create a new credit union branch.  

CGS worked to establish colours, finishes, and custom millwork that create a new design benchmark and corporate identity for Momentum.  Building on Momentum’s identity as a community asset owned by its members, CGS sought to design the banking hall as a warm, welcoming ‘living room’ that is decidedly different from the typical bank branch design.  It reads more like a hotel lobby than a bank and connects directly with staff offices with glazed screens.

Using a palette of birch, quartz, and resin panels cast with botanicals, the millwork in the space is highly custom and unique.  Mosaic tile adds texture and highlights key features such as a media / information wall and the backdrop of the teller stations.  Splashes of lime green on the walls and in the fabric of an oversized banquette bring life and vibrancy to the space, as do the bold geometric wall decals, designed by graphic design firm factore.

On the exterior, the front façade received sleek aluminum panels and a ramp for barrier free accessibility.  Elsewhere, layers of paint were removed to reveal the original red brick cladding.
