BURLINGTON RIFLE AND REVOLVER CLUB
BURLINGTON, ONTARIO
Client Burlington Rifle and Revolver Club
A new 2 storey building with one ground floor range and 2 upper floor ranges, with significant amenity, gathering and support spaces that will replace an existing aged 1 storey single range and separate temporary support building. Efficiently designed to accommodate day to day use, weekly gatherings and occasional special events, this new facility creates a dramatic, sleek and inviting new public image for the Burlington Rifle & Revolver Club.
The new building has a bold wedge shape and a dramatic sloping roof. This dynamic form presents a welcoming face to the street, putting emphasis on the public elements of the facility, while obscuring the view of the blank mass of the range wing beyond.
The exterior of the building is to be clad in sleek, modern metal panels in a dark gun metal gray, a clean and efficient material with galvanized corrugated metal accent panels, accent screens and extruded steel elements. The exterior design is inspired by firearm design and imagery such as triggers, sights, gun grips, and other gun finishes to enhance the interest to the exterior while reflecting the function of the building.
